Velour is a knit fabric with an organic stretch.
Velour was originally used for upholstery but in the 1970s it grew in popularity as a clothing fabric.
Devoiré (also known as burnout) is a fabric technique used on velour. This is where the material undergoes a chemical process to dissolve the cellulose fibres to create a semi-transparent pattern along side the more solidly woven fabric.
This fabric features large, red and yellow roses that have a retro tattoo style set against a deep purple textured background and detailed with gems.
